About Four Lakes Media

Four Lakes Media is a two-photographer studio in Madison. We shoot listings — photos, drone, 3D tours and video — for agents across Dane County and south central Wisconsin. We built it around one idea: you should be able to book a shoot in ninety seconds, know roughly what it'll cost before you do, and have the photos before the listing goes live.

-Justin Lackner-

15years photographing homes around Madison. FAA Part 107 certified and insured for commercial drone work. Justin also shoots architecture for firms around the state under Lackner Photography, which is where the habits come from: straight verticals, honest light, and windows that keep their view instead of blowing out. Architectural clients notice when a wall leans, buyers notice too, they just don't know why.

-Marissa Haegele-

Marissa came to real estate from editorial and documentary photography, portraits, music and photojournalism. Work where you don't get to move the furniture or wait for better light. It shows in her listings. She reads a room the way a photojournalist reads one: where the light is actually coming from, what's worth looking at, and what someone will feel walking through the door.

Why we bill by the hour

Packages make you decide in advance what a house needs, and they punish you when the answer changes. A tri-level with eight small rooms takes longer than an open ranch twice the size. Square footage was never the right measure.

Billing for time means you pay for the house you actually have, not the tier you guessed at. It also means we're never rushing to hit a photo count. You get every usable frame because there's no reason not to. And it works the other way: tell us to skip the unfinished basement you don't want photos of and you're not paying for it.

We bill in 15-minute increments, we round down, and if something's going to take longer than expected we tell you before we start rather than on the invoice.

Own It: Building Black Wealth

A portion of every real estate booking supports Own It: Building Black Wealth, a Madison organization working to close the racial homeownership gap in Dane County.

We believe our community is at its best when we all start on an equal footing.
